2022 Triumph Speed Triple RS

2022 Triumph Speed Triple RS

The 2022 Triumph Speed Triple is an exciting addition to the motorcycle market, especially for enthusiasts who appreciate power, agility, and style. This bike is a modern incarnation of the legendary Speed Triple line that has been popular among riders since the 1990s.

At the heart of the 2022 Speed Triple is a 1160cc three-cylinder engine that delivers an impressive 178 horsepower and 92 lb-ft of torque. The engine is based on the one found in the Triumph Tiger 1200, but has been tuned for street performance. This translates to a thrilling ride that is both smooth and responsive, whether cruising on the highway or carving through corners.

One of the standout features of the 2022 Speed Triple is its sleek and muscular design. The bike has a bold and aggressive stance, with sharp lines and minimal bodywork. The headlights are LED and incorporate Triumph’s signature twin round design. The fuel tank is also slim and aerodynamic, which adds to the bike’s sporty look.

The 2022 Speed Triple is equipped with advanced technology that enhances both performance and safety. The bike features ride-by-wire throttle control, which provides precise and instant response. There are also five riding modes that can be selected to suit different conditions and preferences. These modes include Road, Rain, Sport, Track, and Rider, which can be customized to the rider’s specific preferences.

The 2022 Speed Triple is also equipped with advanced safety features, including traction control, cornering ABS, and a quick shifter. These features work together to ensure that the bike remains stable and secure at all times, even in challenging conditions.

The suspension system of the 2022 Speed Triple is also noteworthy. The bike is equipped with fully adjustable Öhlins suspension, which provides a smooth and comfortable ride, while also allowing for precise handling and control. The brakes are also top-notch, with Brembo M50 monoblock calipers that provide excellent stopping power.

The cockpit of the 2022 Speed Triple is minimalist and focused, with a high-quality TFT display that provides all the necessary information at a glance. The display can also be customized to display different layouts and colors.

The 2022 Speed Triple is available in two different versions: the standard model and the RS model. The RS model is the higher-end version, with additional features such as carbon fiber bodywork, Öhlins Smart EC 2.0 electronic suspension, and a quickshifter and autoblipper.

The 2022 Triumph Speed Triple is an impressive motorcycle that will appeal to enthusiasts who are looking for a combination of power, agility, and style. With its powerful engine, advanced technology, and sleek design, the Speed Triple is sure to turn heads and provide an exhilarating riding experience.

Generally, I would start with the specs and work into an opinion... but in this case, I'm going to start with my conclusion and work backward.
The Triumph Speed Triple RS is the best bike... in the world.
I have literally just parked it, come inside, and started to write this.

Engine
The engine is a 1160cc inline triple putting out 177hp, 92lb-ft of torque, couple this with a bike that weighs less than 200kg wet and you have a serious contender here.
From the first time, I fired it up, I felt how smooth the engine was, with power on tap and long legs, it's seriously a hooligan bike that will get me into trouble. but I love it!
it comes equipped with a 15l fuel tank, but I imagine you would churn through that reasonably quickly.

Ergonomics
The seat is up quite high at 830mm, something like an adventure bike, but unlike the all-terrain machines, the bars are low, bringing the rider into a lean forward position with pegs up reasonably high also. It's an all-out attack stance, and as this is the first time I have ridden anything like this, although new to me, not uncomfortable.

Mirrors
The factory Barend mirrors are actually really quite effective and stylish at the same time. A definite win for me.

For a machine with a lean-forward attack mode-style seating arrangement, I found this bike to be really comfortable. The seat was not hard, the ride was firm but forgiving. I could see myself doing a long road trip on this bike.

Second Conclusion
For a sporty bike with a big engine, this would have to be one of the best-sorted, most comfortable, and easiest rides I have ever had. I actually entertained the idea of selling my bike and buying one. the only thing that stopped me is the fact I don't have a spare 30k lying around. 100%, would ride again!
